Newcastle blow the doors off

On a breezy Saturday morning in Durham, my own personal grudge match against the Oxbridge rejects unfolded - I’d love to hate them but sadly they were mostly decent blokes. The game began evenly, with Newcastle taking the lead as Nat's crashed ball set up Paddy for a back-post tap-in. Despite Durham's growing momentum, the first half concluded 2-1 in favor of the Toon, James Roake netting the second goal after some prime Barcelona-esque passing.

The second half witnessed a touch of chaos, partly due to questionable umpiring by a woman who admitted she was blind and couldn’t see an obvious foot from a yard away… Admittedly I didn’t see our third or fourth goals, but JZ and Lawson secured a 4-2 lead for Newcastle, while a missed opportunity for a fifth goal earned me a harsh DoD award. Durham, however, clawed back, bringing the score to 4-3 and creating a tense finale.

The match concluded dramatically with El Capitan Nat's commitment, diving to prevent a crashed ball into the circle. Final score: 4-3 Newcastle. Special mentions include Adam King's impactful hit and Ben Grenyer's memorable toilet stall incident. Also to Ed who is a child and picked all the beans off his jacket potato.
